LandIntel (“we”, “us”, or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you order a Land Intelligence Report (“Report”) through our website or Shopify store.

This Policy applies to all customers worldwide who purchase our Reports. While we are based in Australia and primarily governed by the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), we respect additional privacy rights that may apply to you under laws such as the EU GDPR or California CCPA/CPRA.

By placing an order, you consent to the practices described in this Policy. This Policy forms part of our Terms & Conditions.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following personal information:

  • Contact details: Name, email address, and phone number (if provided)
  • Property details: The full address of the Queensland property you want assessed
  • Payment information: Processed securely by Shopify Payments, Stripe, or your chosen payment provider (we do not store credit card numbers)
  • Order information: Date of order, Report type (single or multi-property), and any notes you provide
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, and device information (automatically collected via Shopify)

We do not collect sensitive information such as health data, racial or ethnic origin, or financial details beyond what is required for payment processing.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your personal information only for the following purposes:

  • To generate and deliver your custom Land Intelligence Report (this requires the property address)
  • To communicate with you about your order and delivery (usually within 72 hours)
  • To process payments and prevent fraud
  • To improve our website and services (anonymised data only)
  • To respond to your enquiries or support requests

We do not use your data for marketing unless you explicitly opt in.

3. How We Share Your Information

We only share your information in these limited cases:

  • With Shopify and our payment processors (Stripe, PayPal, etc.) to complete your transaction
  • With trusted third-party tools we use to generate the Report (e.g. Queensland Government mapping services, council planning portals) — only the property address is shared as needed
  • With our small team of contractors who help prepare reports (all bound by strict confidentiality)
  • If required by law (e.g. court order or tax authorities)

We never sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

4. Data Storage and Security

  • Your data is stored securely in Australia (and on Shopify’s secure servers in Canada/USA where required).
  • We use industry-standard encryption, firewalls, and access controls.
  • Reports are delivered as password-protected PDFs where appropriate.
  • We retain order and payment records for 7 years (as required by Australian tax law). After that, we delete or de-identify your information.

5. International Transfers

Since our website is accessible worldwide, your data may be processed in countries outside Australia (e.g. Shopify’s servers). We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, including Shopify’s standard contractual clauses and compliance with the APPs.

6. Your Rights

Depending on where you are located, you may have the following rights:

  • Access, correct, or delete your personal information
  • Withdraw consent at any time
  • Request a copy of your data
  • Object to certain processing

For EU/UK customers: You have full GDPR rights. For California residents: You have CCPA rights (including “Do Not Sell”).
